Grilled Banana Ice Cream Delight


  • 4 ripe bananas
  • 1 cup vanilla ice cream
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)
  • Aluminum foil


  1. Prepare the Grill:

    • Preheat your BBQ grill to medium heat. Ensure the grill grates are clean and lightly oiled to prevent sticking.
  2. Prepare the Bananas:

    • Leave the bananas unpeeled. Slice each banana lengthwise, creating a pocket without cutting all the way through.
  3. Stuff with Ice Cream and Chocolate:

    • Scoop vanilla ice cream into the pocket of each banana. Sprinkle chocolate chips (and chopped nuts, if using) over the ice cream.
  4. Wrap in Foil:

    • Place each stuffed banana on a piece of aluminium foil. Wrap them securely to create a packet, ensuring no fillings escape during grilling.
  5. Grill the Bananas:

    • Carefully place the foil-wrapped bananas on the preheated grill. Close the lid and grill for about 5-7 minutes, until the bananas are softened and the fillings are melted.
  6. Check for Doneness:

    • After 5-7 minutes, carefully unwrap one banana to check if the ice cream is melty and the chocolate is gooey. If needed, rewrap and grill for a few more minutes.
  7. Serve:

    • Remove the foil-wrapped bananas from the grill. Allow them to cool for a minute before serving to avoid burning.
  8. Enjoy!

    • Serve your grilled banana ice cream delights immediately. For added indulgence, top with whipped cream, caramel sauce, or a sprinkle of cinnamon before serving.
